The Windows 2000
Readiness Analyzer tool analyzes your system and reports potentially
incompatible hardware devices and software applications. The tool compares
the devices and applications on your system against a list of known
issues. This tool is available to run during Windows 2000 Setup to help
ensure your installation will succeed.
Note: The list
of potential issues reported by the Readiness Analyzer tool is based on
Microsoft and third-party testing, but is not exhaustive (for example,
Microsoft did not focus on testing games or entertainment software)
Universal
Serial Bus (USB) Support
Windows 2000
supports thousands of devices. USB
support lets you connect and disconnect a wide array of peripherals such as
joy sticks, scanners, and camcorders without configuring or rebooting your
desktop or laptop.
Driver
Verification (Certification)
Microsoft uses
its driver certification program to provide safeguards to assure you that
device drivers have not been tampered with and reducing your risk of
installing non-certified drivers.
